Polygamists vs. Swingers; There’s A Difference
Although the two have similar qualities and may sometimes overlap, their core ideals are different. First lets define the two. Swingers engage in casual, non-emotional sex with multiple partners or groups of people at a time. Polygamists are people who are in deep committed relationships and/or marriages with more than one person at the same time.
Polys are often put off with the outwardly sexual attitude of swingers, and swingers are often turned off by the intense focus of relationships put out by polys. Polys are usually followers of the Pagan religion and many seek bisexual relationship. Swingers are mainly in-the-closet Christians and usually seek the company of other heterosexual couples to engage in sex with.
Swinger couples are more focused on not becoming emotionally involved with the other couples they engage in xxx activities with. Their sexual goals are more recreational and short-term based. Polygamists are focused on finding long-term partners, marriage, and spiritual happiness.
Most swingers would rather not use word like “relationship” and “love” to describe their ideal lifestyle goals. Obviously this notion is quite the opposite for Polys. Swingers often tend to lead two differnt lifestyles – their normal everyday lives, and their swinger lives. Polys lead one lifestyle and embrace all of their activities “under one hat” so-to-speak.
