Don’t Hit Send
When trying to get a lady’s attention on an online dating site, men often make huge mistakes with their introductory e-mail that will make women cringe. Most of the time the men don’t even realize that they’re doing anything wrong. They may wonder why no one is responding and many may simply chalk it up to the internet and the rumors of the many fakes and scammers on most dating sites. It must be awfully frustrating for these guys though, wondering if that’s really the case. There are a few simple tips that will make that first e-mail something that women will be more inclined to respond to and maybe help a guy find a romantic relationship.
First guys, read her profile. Don’t just skim it for dirty comments or mentions of sex, really read it and pick out one thing in her profile to comment on or ask questions about in the first e-mail. Women are so used to guys not actually reading their profiles that they are usually pretty impressed just from the realization that a guy has actually read her profile. Sending an e-mail that just says “hello” and nothing else will usually not even get a response from most women. Sending an e-mail telling a woman how hot she is can be a huge turn off for many women also. Most women feel that comes across as very superficial, and they’d much rather have a guy tell them they’re beautiful and sexy after actually getting to know them. Using a term of endearment like sweetie or honey may be better accepted in the southern states of the US, but often will be frowned upon anywhere else. Calling a woman any term of endearment will often make them think the guy may be a scammer or at the very least can be a turn off because it’s too familiar too fast. Be sincere, be real and treat her like she’s real and the responses will probably be much better.
